the one where you introduce yourself.

So this will be the 4th time I've started a blog over the last 6 years. I think this is my third blogger one. Prior to this blogging was just a casual thing where I'll write whatever I want and it's usually about what happened in my life or my thoughts on specific issues and stuff that interests me.

This one is a different kind of blog because it's for Uni. I really didn't expect to be learning about blogging in Uni because I've learned about it 6 years ago but it was explained by the tutor just now so I'll just go along with it.

I did a year of Foundation Studies last year in Sydney and now I'm in Griffith Uni in Gold Coast. Why did I move from Sydney to Gold Coast? Simply because my parents bought a house here and I'm supposed to take care of it. Uni's been great and my subjects are pretty fun.

I'm turning 19 exactly next week which means I'm a Pisces. Music is my ultimate passion and I listen to every genre and I like them all the same. It ranges from indie to rock to r&b to jazz to dance music. I've just learned to like dance music last year actually because most of the clubs you go in Australia play dance music and so I'm pretty used to it now.

I'm doing a Bachelor of Communications and I hope to major in Communication and Media Studies and Marketing. I actually wanted to do a degree in business and major in Accounting or something like that but after I worked for a month as a Trainee for this Accounting and finance department, there was no way I'm gonna do this for the rest of my life. Oh yeah, and I don't like math as well so that explains why I'm not doing Accounting and Finance. Although Marketing is actually a business subject, it doesn't actually require a lot of mathematical knowledge as it's a pretty creative subject so that's why I'm doing it.

I've always been interested in the media. I think it's funny how people are so very easily influenced by the media and that includes me. These influences range from body image, music and other trivial things that we might not even think about. I actually wanna work in the media so that I can influence how people think and change the world. Yes, change the world.

I'm doing 3 subjects for this semester. One of them is a 20 Credit Point subject. The subjects are New Communications Tech, Marketing and Creative Arts Practice. All 3 of them are really interesting subjects and the lecturers and tutors are great.

This blogging task is actually for New Commn Tech and it's a prerequisite for my major next year. We'll be covering Photoshop in this course too and that'll be fun. They will also be screening heaps of movies that are really interesting and out of the ordinary like La Jetee that we saw today. The whole concept of using pictures to make a movie is really refreshing and the plot was intriguing as well.

In Marketing, we have heaps of projects to do which I think is great because it's practical and we'll learn a lot. There's this project coming up where we have to try and market Westfield Shopping Centre to the growing number of foreign people in Australia.

Lastly, in Creative Arts Prac, we learn about 3 different creative arts areas. They are Writing, Theatre and Contemporary Art. It's a really creative and fun subject because it challenges you to be creative and yet practical.
